פְּרִישָׁהI f. (פָּרַש) 1) separation, retirement, preparation. Yoma 8b שזה פְּרִישָׁתוֹ לקדושהוכ׳ this one (the high priest) is isolated for sanctification (to prepare himself for the functions of the Day of Atonement), and this one (the priest designated to burn the red cow) is isolated for the sake of levitical cleanness.
